Besides the fact that it's the first 3d printed building in Eastern Europe, PROTO-DOM is a glimpse into the future of sustainability and ecologically driven design. It explores the segmental and modular approach of 3d construction printing where the future applications become limitless.
The building is constructed out of 9 steel reinforced 3d printed modular segments connected with wooden frames and costs only 2268 EUR to build (the walls). The roof construction was preassembled in the factory and connected to the building at the construction site.
PROTO-DOM takes on the challenges and needs of social housing and executes them with additive manufacturing technologies, providing us with safer, faster, and cleaner ways for the future of construction.
